Students Offering Support is looking for high school students who are interested in a leadership opportunity. Are you interested in helping others? Are you from London, Waterloo or the Greater Toronto Area? High School SOS Rep's help to raise awareness about SOS 'Exam-AIDs' and about the issues around child poverty. With some support High School Rep's will run events and promotional activities at schools across Ontario.

Why Be a SOS Student Rep?

At SOS, you get the opportunity to help others and you will:

  • Make a Difference - you will help your peers at school while raising money for a development project at the same time!
  • Work with volunteers from universities in your host city (Western SOS, Laurier SOS, or UofT SOS)
  • Go on the High School SOS outreach trip in the summer of 2010! (An outreach trip involves paying your own way to travel to a Latin American country for 2 weeks.)

What is High School SOS?

SOS offers 'Exam-AID' sessions for grades 9-12 math and science courses. These 3-hour sessions will be held in January and June to help prepare you for final exams.

What is SOS?

Students Offering Support (SOS) is a national student-led charity run by volunteers. SOS volunteers tutor university and high school students in three hour group review sessions before midterms and exams. In exchange for being tutored in SOS 'Exam-AID' sessions, students make a donation of $25. The money raised is then used to fund sustainable development projects which enable children to have an education in Latin America. These projects are built with the help of SOS volunteers on annual outreach trips. Since 2004, SOS has helped over 4000 students in classes and has raised over $240,000 for various projects in Latin America.
