Plan's Relief Efforts after the January 12, 2010 earthquake.
On January 12th, 2010 a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti causing devastating damage in the impoverished country. The quake was centred 15 km west of the capital, Port-au-Prince, and was felt as far away as the neighbouring Dominican Republic.
Plan staff are actively gathering information and will report more details as they become available. This is reported to be the largest earthquake ever reported in the area, and the need is great.
